Hermès Scarf 90 cm – Sangles – Joachim Metz (1985) – Navy Border

VENDU

A creation signed by Joachim Metz, the Hermès scarf Sangles (Girths) was first issued in 1985, then reissued in 1990 and several times since. This emblematic design has become a classic of the house of Hermès. It is not rare but remains much sought after.

The multicoloured palette rests on a luminous white ground, framed by a deep navy border, bringing balance and brilliance to the whole.

Condition: Very good condition. Nicely round, plump hand-rolled hem. One small stain visible in the last photo. The photos are part of the description and let you appreciate this unique piece. We invite you to examine them carefully to get an accurate idea of its condition.

Hermès scarf, 90 × 90 cm (36" × 36"). Made in France from the finest pure silk, it has hand-rolled hems, a testament to the exceptional skill of the Hermès artisans. Carefully authenticated by Carré Society, this pre-owned scarf embodies the very essence of sustainable luxury.

Art and History of this Hermès Scarf

An essential accessory for riding, the girth holds the saddle or blankets on the horse's back. But here, the girths artfully rolled on their display stand, far from their practical function, become a graphic motif, celebrating the care, elegance and comfort given to the animal. Joachim Metz offers a structured, rhythmic composition, a true quiet ode to the noble bond between human and horse, in a luminous, very colourful scarf that is instantly recognisable.
